Supporting our community: The Marc Santi Foundation

For the third consecutive year, De Rose Barristers and Solicitors is proud to sponsor the Marc Santi Foundation Valentine’s Day Gala. The event is taking place on February 9, 2013, at Le Parc Banquet Centre and Diana De Rose, Partner, De Rose Barristers and Solicitors, will be attending on behalf of the firm.

The Marc Santi Foundation is held in honor of a remarkable human being – Marc Santi – whose life was tragically taken in a motor vehicle accident at the early age of 18. To continue his legacy and ensure his memory is never forgotten, the Santi family along with close friends established The Marc Santi Foundation.

On the afternoon of April 6, 2001, Marc was involved in a horrible motor vehicle accident causing him severe head injuries. Marc lay unconscious for nine days in the Trauma Unit at Sunnybrook & Women’s College Health Science Centre, courageously fighting for his life. On April 15, 2001, Marc lost the battle and quietly passed away.

Marc was an inspiring young man and true leader in many ways, especially at school and within his community. He was the President of the Student Council at St. Michaels College School and an active participant in football, baseball, hockey, skiing tennis and golf.

Even after his death, Marc continues to aid and inspire those left behind. Proceeds from the gala will be distributed to the following charities and organizations:

  • Sunnybrook Health Science Centre- Trauma Unit
  • York Central Hospital
  • St. Michael’s College School
  • Richmond Hill Hockey Association
  • Schizophrenia Society of Ontario
  • V.O.I.C.E.
  • Moving Forward Foundation

To date the Foundation has raised over $300,000.
